I'll be in the east gate area for a few days next week.  I'd love to do an evening paddle in an area that might have moose feeding.  I know our lake it's unlikely.  Any suggestions in that area would be appreciated.  I'm wondering about McNanus lake perhaps ...

I had a question about McManus lake campsites 1, 2, 3, 4 ... (as per the PCI map on this site)

Would anyone know if any have decent swimming in front of the site ?  Sandy bottom ?  In addition all the sites look like a short paddle from the put in ... I have a novice paddler in a kayak coming along so I cant paddle too far.  Is it safe to say that those sites would be a short paddle ... very little current (I know its technically a lake but its also part of the river)... ?

One last question ...  .. for the High Falls slide ... I assume theres no issue this time of year with low water ?

I went to a local provincial park and went for a dip yesterday ... not algonquin but it was really nice to be in the water.  The smell of burning charcoal and hot dogs didn't hurt either ...  

(and it was free)

I haven't booked anything yet .. traditionally I go during the week and so I've never had trouble getting sites so I book closer to leaving .. but for those that are booking more recently, is it also booked up a lot mid week?  

If the answer is yes then that's a big miscalculation on my part ..

They're limiting movement when and how they can, but the government's power is (fortunately) not infinite. We're just unlucky enough to have a hobby they have control over. 

True enough ... in my area those going to Quebec at one point had to go through a checkpoint and if they were heading to the cottage they were told to turn around and go back to Ottawa.  But lets all be honest . .at this point there no appetite for that with the govt or police .. and thats understandable.  We just need to grin and bear it for a few more weeks.  if i didn't live so close to the road I'd tent in the back yard !

I work from home now and love it .. but we are seeing that it doesn't work that way for kids ... I've lost count of the number of parents who have told me their straight A student is struggling this year.  

But yes back to the post topic .. we are almost there ... and we will get in some decent camping this year for sure.  For those that don't normally do fall trips try one ... you might not be able to swim but no flies balances that out ...  how many sleeps til it opens ?

Its gotta be tough driving through the park and not being able to camp ... thats torture !!
