Only been to Big Porc in May myself. We stayed at the site at the East end of the narrows. Very large with a big rock backstop at the firepit. Lots of tent sites and easy acces from the narrows.
Supposed to be real good bass fishing in Ragged Lake.
Bonnechare lake is a nice day trip. Couple good sites to cliff jump and swim.

I think its Vitamin B-1 that keeps them away too. My bro took Vitamin B pills for a month before going to Asia n he said the bugs never touched him once.
Its the same concept as the Insect patches that Italo promotes.
On another note, i heard that Citronella can no longer be sold as a repellent in Canada as it in fact attracts bugs. False advertising. Kinda funny really, companies got away with it and made millions for years lol

Just got back from Harness on Sunday. Yes similar to surrounding lakes, maybe a lil smaller on average.
Most would be like 14-18inches but we did get a few at 20inch n 1 at 22inch.

I've got the MEC velcro pad on mine, and find it slides around too much on my yoke, even with the velcro tightened up fully. That could be just due to the shape of the yoke though. I really need to look at maybe stitching rubber strips into the underside of the pad, so it stays in place better. This past weekend I ended up removing the thing, and just relying on the padding on the shoulder straps of my pack to cushion the yoke.
We always just throw cpl wraps of electrical tape around. Simple, easy, quick

Swede, are you trolling the streamers? If so, how are you rigging them with weight?
Thanks

What dates are you trying to book?
If it's before May 4th, I can understand why you can't do it (for backcountry camping).
Barbara
For May 9. I found it, the mobile version is bugged.
Thanks

It looks like it keeps taking me to Car camping reservations even though ive selected backcountry.
Anyone have a link to where i can reserve backcountry and also see how many sites are available on a specific lake?
Edit- nevermind i found it. Apparently the 'mobile' version is bugged. I switched to desktop version and it worked.
Thx

Campsite on Big Porc at the East end of the narrows isvery large. Good large firepit built into a boulder helps keep the heat. Access the site from the narrows or from the point.
I would skip fishing Cache, Head, Ragged, nSmoke and just push through them.
