Yes a very nice quiet spot for sure. The window was a feature we said all cabins should have, the Mckaskil one had it as well. Those cabins get dark quick!

That looks like its right out in front of the Lost Coin ranger cabin! My daughter and her friend spent hours catching minnows off that dock!

From what I remember the portages are nice big and flat between the lakes. I have a video of the section between if you want to see it for yourself.

Thanks for watching. It's still a tough route but anything and everything helps. We will be in the area this spring as well. Maybe we will cross paths!

Great write up Evan, I'll keep the seat warm anytime! Was a pleasure to paddle that section with you. It went about as good as it could have.

Thanks for the link Barry

Awesome guys!! thanks for the info, with the maps and the coordinates I am almost positive we will find it. I will be sure to take some pictures and video of it, for anybody who is interested.

Jeff......Great news to hear there should still be some remains to find as well!! I use your map with the Avenza app so that should make things easy! Thanks for all you do !

Trevan....Did you actually visit the tower yourself based off the backroad map?  either way thank you!

Looks like we will be back in the Birchcliffe Lake area this year. I have read in the log books at the cabin of failures and successes in trying to locate the Osler fire-tower. Just curious if anybody has any info they would be willing to pass along about locating the tower. Is any of it still intact? From what I understand it is still there just no longer standing.

I have tried to google search and looked at some old maps but have not been able to find much information on this at all. I have checked google maps to get an idea of where I think it may be. Any info would be greatly appreciated. If we are able to locate it, I will be sure to get some pictures and video to share with the group!!

Any other points of interest in the area?? let me know as well!

Thanks!!

I also use the Agawa Boreal 21, so far it has been great. Before that I used the Sven Saw which was amazing as well, only complaint was the Diameter of wood you can cut was limited by the design. I also use a small folding saw used for cutting ICF, and recently received a Silky Pocket Boy, which I find to be very handy for smaller jobs. I would be happy with any of these saws on a trip.

Further south than any of the guesses so far. The closest island does not have a site and the further one had a discontinued site.
