Are you, like, the Pied Piper of wildlife? Is it your cologne? Whatever it is you've got it lol. That was soooooooo cool with the moose. Great vid. Look forward to the rest.

Such a shame
I have very fond memories of a trip through Opalescent. I can only imagine the damage and loss to wild life.
Such a shame.

I really appreciate a well written post and yours definitely hit the mark. It was witty and touching. Thanks so much for sharing your sentimental journey with your son. I can't wait to hear more from your future trips.

Very nice. Looks like your first morning on Harry was a fabulous one. I too hate when people are so lazy and irresponsible w their fires. There is no excuse for it. Really appreciate the tour of the campsites as I've not visited this lake before. Has me thinking! mmmm.............

Down the channel I caught one about 12 in. which was the largest one I've ever caught. Most were small - really small. Fun part was, many times when I cast, they would hit the bait as soon as it hit the water. It was fun. Interesting about that report. I knew nothing about it but that explains all the little fellas I caught. There were lots of the really small guys all along the rocks at the portage. The better ones were down the channel for sure.

Is that a titanium piece? I'm pretty sure I contacted him a couple years ago about designing a solo size oven.

LOTR portage into Provoking Lk. Camp sites there are only open to hikers so if you do the portage you probably won't see any other canoes. I visited there last Aug and caught lots of bass particularly down the channel.

Good luck and let us know how your trip went.

GREAT vid. Very entertaining and nice photography. Looks like you had a great time in spite of the tough portages. I know that feeling when you've had a particularly gruelling day. But that's part of the challenge between you and the backcountry. Nothing a good meal and an even better nights sleep can't fix. I have to tell you I particularly liked the part in the vid where you lost your shoes - sorry! I watched it several times 😄 Glad you got them back.
Keep soloing lesta!

That's a great idea. I wonder if you could use computer paper as we always have pages of it from our home office, that we put into the shredder. It would be nice to recycle it. Would it be too ridged???

I have many of the same issues and I know so many other people who have the same challenges with knees, legs, hips, feet etc,. What I find sad, is they just complain about their pain, nursing their infermities, while all you AA 'ers are out there making life count. Cheers to all of you for lovin' every moment and doing all you can until you can't anymore.

Very nice read and the pictures are great. I've been up that way twice this year and it was nice seeing familiar places through your photography. too bad about that peninsula sight on Misty. Sigh! I didn't get it either time I was on the lake. It sure looks sweet. I like your reflector oven. What's the brand?

I was out last w/e for four days and I only found it hot in my bed on Sat night although it cooled off quickly overnight. I brought a very light summer weight wool top and bottom and I was in a down -4 rate bag but you may sleep warmer. Just don't sleep in cotton. It will hold moisture and feel too cold.

Have a great time.

Nice report. Thanks for sharing and glad you had a good time. I was also in the park that w/e with Christinecanoes and agree that the bugs were a real pain but not nearly as bad as I experienced in May when I was out. Guess we have to take the good with the bad 😏

I have to agree with Foxriderz. Opalescent has two great sites directly across from each other. I stayed at #5 also and it's great to swim from. Great picture taking along Barron Cannon close by but you loose valuable camping time with the long drive to the east side of the park.' I'm also familiar with the site off Daisy and it's great too but I had troubles approaching the site when winds were about 20-25 km early June this yr.. There's a great site on Booth that has a fantastic stone cutting board for preparing your "catch of the day" 😉. It's on the S/E shore, the 6th or 7th site I think, as you approach the narrows into the south end of the lake.
