Fishing » Brain Lake » 1/30/2018 8:55 am |
I fish Brain Lake every couple of years I have family that live in the area and we usually have decent success I've never had any problems getting in but I can see if there is a lot of rain you could have issues with low clearance vehicles If you get a chance you should fish stretch lake

Fishing and Interior Camping I love the solitude that interior camping gives me but the main reason I do it is for the fishing I've gone to a telescope rod they are generally more rigid / stiff and you have to pay more attention when you are fishing but mine is about 12 inches long when not extended and it goes in my back pack the reel is really your choice I also use 5 pound braid it has virtually no memory

Fishing » Some Huge Brook Trout » 8/19/2017 10:08 am |
I know the lake he went to and if I could get there myself I would but I'm to fat and out of shape to even tempt it but if I could I would eat as many as I could while I was there there's nothing like a fresh Spec out of the frying pan

Trip Planning » Lower Spectacle - Clover - St. Francis Lakes » 8/01/2017 7:17 am |
Hi Uppa I've been to all of the lakes above Upper and lower Spectacle use to have trout when I was kid some 30 years ago but I doubt there are any now I have caught trout in Clover St Francis has nice trout in it but I have only fished it in the spring Mcdonald creek has some small Specs. but the trick for Mcdonald is the portage if you can find it the marker for the portage is not very visible from Carcaju Creek and the portage is mostly muck 4 to 6 inches have a great trip

Equipment » Tarp & Rope » 7/05/2017 11:25 am |
I never go with out a tarp and about 100 ft of cordage I think it's in the must column of your equipment I always tarp over my tent but never lay it flat on my tent remember a small slope on the tarp for rain and it keeps the UV off your tent and prolongs the life of your tent I'm going into my 16th year with my tent no leeks or punctures I camped over 60 days last year alone with it and I can tell you It's not a MEC or Eurika or any of the other over priced tents you see on the market it's just a Coleman 7x7 with a full fly and a small vestibule
