I see on the news that Muskoka has issued a full fire ban. Hopefully this doesn't prompt the park to do the same.

Has any one heard anything else about a possible fire ban in the park.

I will find out for sure first thing tomorrow morning, heading in for 5 days tomorrow.

I may have to make a dinner menu change!!!

You are too kind, Uppa, I really appreciate that offer.  I think I'm gonna pass on it though, I'll have my hands full on portages as it is.

My plan is to dress for bugs, then later regret not taking you up on it, then writing a trip report that reminds everyone about your kind offer and my bullheadedness that declined your kind offer.

Hah! I've seen the phrase "cube of sanity" floated around when talking about bug tents, and it really can be the case. If I'm on a bug-riddled campsite and have no relief except by crawling into my tiny one-man tent, I very quickly start questioning my life decisions. I went years camping without a bug tent in bug season, but now that I have the NoBugZone, it's basically essential equipment for a late May or June camping trip.

If you change your mind, just let me know!

Better to have it then be looking for one that's for sure, i ordered one last year and it came long after black fly season. I'm glad i have one now, we are heading in early Friday morning for 5 days. I think we will be hanging out in our "cube of sanity". Just have to figure out how to paddle through the mesh LOL.

Cheers

@ATVenture, yes I agree. The only thing we can watch is the visitor center cam and the lake of two rivers image. I think I wore out the refresh button lol!
Its looking pretty promising on Lake of Two Rivers. It would be cool to see how the other areas of the park are progressing

I've done Happy Isle to Canoe lake a couple times, You just have to arrange vehicles or get a shuttle, you have a couple route options depending on your time and how much ground you want to cover.

The Weather looks to be getting more spring like this week. I picked April 28th on the AO ice out contest but i cant see that happening. I'm booked for May 12th, hopefully were good for that!

The link should take you to the Spring In Algonquin Page, they have an image that updates every 15 mins on lake of two rivers.

Any thoughts on the ice moving out, its getting very spring like in Southern Ontario. It would be nice to finally have an ice out trip after ice out and not in June like the past 2 seasons!
