Wow the crazy/covid summer camping continues into the fall. I always go away the first week of Nov. Get a little last bit of fishing in. NEVER pre book. Thought I'd check yesterday before I head up tomorrow. 1 site left! Wow! Ya not for me. I know the electrical part can fill up a little but the whole campground? Geeez I sure hope this trend doesn't continue next year. I've never made so many reservations in my life as this year lol

I would say yes! 2 of my buddies went crazy far north about 10-12 years ago. Like past Cochrane in search of huge pike and walleye lakes. When they got to a lake my 1 buddy took his retainer out of his mouth and gave it a quick swish in the lake. He was laid up in about 4 hours. He couldn't even move. And ya both ends.... They had no idea what was wrong. So my other buddy had the duty of driving all the way back home about 8 hours after they got there. So after tests from the Hospital they said "you have beaver fever". I've always practiced safe water precautions but this is always in the back of my mind. Scares me to think I used to drink right out of the lake in the mid 90's. Spring thaw thou lol.

Hey fellow AA'ers! Question about Welcome lake. Are you allowed to use worms there? Harry and Rence lakes too? For some reason l think I remember about someone getting fined there for using them. Not even using them just having possession.  Can't find anywhere in the reg's. I know Lake of 2 rivers has slot as do Smoke I believe. Those aren't in the reg's either. I know spots around Sundridge and South River have sanctuary's and those are not in the reg's either. Such a grey area. Any info would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

Ha ha, PaPaddler! Your last sentence sums it up. I had a scare about 7 years ago on Canisbay. Last week-end in Sept. I don't know why but I woke up about 3am. About 5 min later I heard massive noise behind my tent. Maybe that`s why I woke up. I could hear the twigs and branches hit his rack as he walked thru the bush. So obviously I knew it was a bull. It just kept getting closer...and closer...and closer till he was right outside my tent. 10-12 feet away.  I too was like don`t want to make a move and scare/startle him. Being the rut and all. Same thing mikey5290, he sniffed and snorted.....He paused for a bit then walked right by and down to the bank. Never heard him after that. I don't know how I managed to fall back asleep as I thought my heart was gonna pop outta my chest lol. I followed the tracks in the morning. He came right from where my food bag was hanging about 100 yards away. Right to my tent. He walked down to the bank and walked down the shoreline. That's why I never heard him. If it were a bear, yes I'd make noise definitely get outta my tent. But in this instance?... I always wondered what to do myself. Little spooky to say the least lol....

When I made my reservation for tomorrow a couple of weeks ago, I made a comment/complaint about exactly that. I mentioned that the old site showed how many sites and how many were booked. I always booked purely on that fact alone. To try and stay away from the crowds. As of today, no feedback.

Well it's supposed to be 2 deg Sunday night in the park. Hoping for frost lol. That would sure put a fork in their spokes! I hope! I'm in southern Ont too. Where I live I back onto green space. Surprisingly enough the bugs are never bad. Almost non-existent. So I never know how they really are. Crossing my fingers for next Thurs

I sure hope so! I'm eager to get in next week-end! A lot of reservations already. First lake I looked at and it's full Fri and Sat night. I guess the bugs don't scare away everyone lol
