I have both and I don't treat either one with kid gloves. The CF has more stress cracks from impacts than my KF for sure. But, I'm a bit soft myself so I really like the weight savings with carbon. If I had to choose just one, I think it would be Kevlar

I liked it but I'm a fanatic for the park and tripping so like to see all of it. I suspect most people here feel the same. For most audiences you're right about the travel segments.
YouTube viewers are more generic (watch a variety of subjects) and they want VERY informative, short videos or VERY entertaining long videos. Plus they want something unique, which you are doing with the kayak tripping so you have the potential to reach a bigger audience than just canoeists or Algonquin Park enthusiasts. My canoe videos rarely exceed 10,000 views while my cabin videos get up to 500,000 because it's unique.
Your talking segments are critical to your audience. They want to connect with the person. They can see thousands of pictures and videos of the scenery (I have that much of my own out there lol). I know I want to watch you talking and kayaking because that's unique and interesting and I can understand the context better from third perspective, as if I'm there with you watching you there.
It took me awhile to figure this out. I still like making first person videos for my own archives, but they don't do well on social media.

That is a well made and entertaining video. Respect for tripping like you do in a kayak.
I have to admit, I was laughing out loud at the window scenes and made my wife watch the first few minutes. Out of fear, I do what Peek does and always crack a window, even when it buggy or raining and my wife is questioning my sanity.
Too bad about the garbage. Rosebary is a beautiful lake but it's one long portage too close to Tim River to keep out the disrespectful.

100 feet of 550 paracord and a 10'x10' silnylon tent will do everything you ever need it to, including replace your tent if you're so inclined.
As far as using a poly tarp for backcountry camping is concerned, I find it about as practical as a plastic cooler and a lawn chair.

Hey Drew. It doesn't sound like an issue for this trip, but I can tell you there is a way to head out before getting your permit. I start many of my trips before the permit offices open. They check me in over the phone the day before I leave and give me the permit Number, which I write on a piece of paper and leave on my dashboard. I've never had a problem.

Trippythings is bang on re Pardee and McGarvey. The other sites pale in comparison. The western sites on Louisa are beautiful and the fishing is good at that end
