To say I'm insanely jealous would be an understatement. I won't get a chance to get on the water until my camping trip, which is still almost two weeks away.

It is indeed the Mattawa. I can definitely see the resemblance to the lower Barron though, that's for sure!
It's Pimisi Lake where the Mattawa starts, picture is taken looking down towards the Talon Chutes (where Talon Lake flows into Pimisi). There is indeed a large white cross up o the cliffs, many people have unfortunately died here while jumping from the 100 foot cliffs.
