Re: Where in Algonquin? No. 71

Is it the northeastern entrance to Big Trout Lake after coming from Merchant Lake?

Farm looking south?

Re: Where in Algonquin? No. 71

Sorry Andy, not Farm.

I know it may seem like an obscure photo, but the hint within the image is the left half of the shot.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No. 71

There is a clue in the left side of the photo or the clue is the entire left hand side of the photo?

We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it.

Re: Where in Algonquin? No. 71

I never ever know where any of these places are, but I really feel like I've at least seen this view and just can't place it.  It is enormously frustrating, so I'm going to take a shot even though I really doubt it, but maybe it will spark others to continue guessing so I don't go mad trying to figure it out.  Is this Club Lake near the Water Clear Portage?   Ughh.  I just know that's wrong, but I can't help it.  It just looks like that to me.

I think the hint is in the left hand side because you can see that the lake opens up in the distance, far bigger than any part of Club.
Maybe Proulx?

Re: Where in Algonquin? No. 71

Shawn - entire left half.

dontgroandaddy - sorry, not Club

Token - you are bang on with the meaning of the hint, but it's not Proulx.

Sorry sweede, not Proulx.

I'm sure a lot of people have seen this lake, but probably didn't stay on it.. it's more of a 'passing through' lake en route to a larger canoe trip..

Annie Bay on Opeongo?

Re: Where in Algonquin? No. 71

With that hint I would say it looks a little like Perley Lake.  But I don't recall the shallow, weedy area...but that appears closer to shore and we were out in the middle so it would not have been as evident.

Lake Travers?

Re: Where in Algonquin? No. 71

Not Opeongo, Traverse or Pearley (but good call on Pearley - holds true to the shape)

This photo was taken facing west.

Edit: Or anywhere along the Petewawa River.
