Don’t Forget the TP - new book

Hi all,

I haven’t posted many trip reports lately, but I’ve been writing. In fact I wrote so much it turned into a book. Which is launching today! Don’t Forget the TP is a memoir of my last decade’s worth of canoe trips in the Park. I’m doing the official announcement tonight but I wanted to post it here first since this forum has been a major source of the information and inspiration that has helped get me to and through many of the trips the book pulls from.

It’s available on Amazon now and will be rolling out to other platforms and physical locations shortly.

That’s very cool Drew. Congratulations, I hope it leads to more books.

Are you going to be out on a speaking/selling tour?

Re: Don’t Forget the TP - new book

Thanks everyone. I don’t know if there will be a tour, but I’ve had a bunch of requests for some kind of launch event so I’m going to see if I can put something together in or near the Park.

And thank you for the order Barry! Here’s the link for anyone else who wants to check it out.

Got my copy yesterday! I'm  not a reader by any means. The short chapters are just long enough to keep my attention.  Really liking it so far and QR codes for photos are awesome. Great job and Congrats again! .

Thanks Shayne! Glad you like the QR codes. That was actually my sister’s idea, really glad she suggested it.

Re: Don’t Forget the TP - new book

Way to go Drew! I've always appreciated the wit woven into your AP trip logs and ordered your book as soon as I saw this post. Truth be told, I did forget the TP once, so you had me at the title (actually, it had fallen out of my bag when doing the final packing steps by the car, but close enough....)
Looking forward to reading it!
Cheers,
Rich

I feel like it’s a small but powerfully bonded group of people who have made that mistake. Thank you for your support with the book!

Re: Don’t Forget the TP - new book

I am sure it is a small but powerfully bonded group!  On one of my early trips in the 80's with my scout troop, some of our guys were approached by other campers who had either run out of or flat out forgotten TP, who came offering some desserts they had with them.  Our guys accepted the trade expecting a hero's welcome back at our campsite (look, we got dessert!), but what they got was chastised by the adults for accepting a trade from people in need.  We were scouts, after all!  My memory is the boys got sent back to return the desserts.
