If I have asked this previously I apologize but cannot find the answer. I have read the 7km trip to Lost Coin Cabin can be Hiked or Biked. Can anyone confirm the latter? I recently read conflicting reports that biking was not allowed. I am thinking this would make a cool bike packing destination if it was acceptable. TIA.

utes mAlthough the Lost Coin Cabin rules on both the Ontario Parks and FOAP sites say nothing about biking (they just say you have to hike), the Bissett Road cabin, which comes before the Lost Coin cabin says you cannot access this cabin on a bike. The Park Rules say you are only allowed bikes on “park roads and designated bike trails”.
Bissett Road Ranger Cabin | Algonquin Provincial Park | The Friends of Algonquin Park
Roofed Accommodations at Ontario Parks - Algonquin - Bissett Road Cabin
By “park roads” I believe they mean any road shown on the Canoe Routes map.
Closed Roads | Algonquin Provincial Park | The Friends of Algonquin Park
Seems weird, like a lost opportunity. Although, I imagine they are just trying to keep people of the interior roads in general. Never hurts to call the park and ask if you can.

The Friends of Algonquin website used to say that you could walk or bike to the lost coin cabin. Looking at the same page today, it says you can only hike. Considering they updated the website to remove the portion about biking, I would assume it's no longer allowed. But I would still call the park and verify just in case.

I thought there used to be something about biking as well, so I just checked the FOAP Lost Coin page, and they removed "bike" at the end of 2023.
