Hoping to bring the kids in to check this out. Have read a couple accounts that are vague on actual location on canoe lake. Would anyone have more solid directions to the site?

Land in the marshy bay north of the cottages on the west side of the lake.
Walk south on the road.(follow the power lines)
At the fork stay right.
Look for a foot path at this Birch. (note this pic is looking back the way you came.)
Follow the path to the cemetery

If you're heading up there in the spring take some boots as part of the trail off the above pictured road floods.
Also, the white cross at the site doesn't mark where Thomson was (or is) buried. That was erected for a CBC documentary in the 60's, they just needed something for a visual and left it there. The actual grave is unmarked.
