Water temp

Anyone who’s been in the Park recently, what are the water temperatures like? I’m heading out this week and trying to decide if I need to pack my wetsuit top.

Re: Water temp

I’m thinking more along the lines for the paddling. I usually wear it for my ice out trip in case of an unexpected swim,  but it’s also usually closer to ice out when I do my ice out trip.

Re: Water temp

Not sure if this helps? Last weekend saw 2 guys swimming in Cedar Lake. They did not get out of the water right away even though the water was ice cold! Last week wore neoprene booties in fly fishing boots. Always wear the neoprene\fly fishing boots right after iceout. Next weekend will be wearing wool socks in water shoes as the water will be warmer. Will still be paddling shorelines and carefully choosing where to cross on open water.

Re: Water temp

I jumped in - twice - on Big George Lake last week. It was "holy crap I need to get out now" cold.

Re: Water temp

Good swimming temps in Louisa and Rock this weekend... for soothing the 100s of black fly and mosquito bites

Re: Water temp

To answer my own question, at the start of last week it was definitely in Uppa’s “holy crap I’ve got to get out now” range. By Sunday I went swimming in McKaskill three times and was pretty comfortable (still wouldn’t want to dump in the middle of the lake, but I’d feel much better about my chances).
