La Loche

If you haven't watched this Les Stroud documentary I would highly recommend it. Les and an Elder take a group of young Dene men/boys on a canoe trip that were at the high school when the shooting took place and new the shooter personally.

Really highlights the importance of connecting with nature and disconnecting from the everyday.

Re: La Loche

I just finished watching this video.  What a tragic event and the healing that came afterwards.

Thank you Barry for posting this video.

Re: La Loche

Very powerful film by a great storyteller. Thanks for sharing, Barry.

I also can't get over the Elder's indifference to the hoards of blackflies. I guess over time you just get used to it.

Re: La Loche

Very tragic. I can't imagine what it did to those young men or the community.

Re: La Loche

Great video. Looks like those kids had it pretty rough even before the shooting. I hope they continue to get the help they need.
