WIA #487

Jury's still out on whether it was the fishing or the fishermen that sucked on this particular trip...

Re: WIA #487

I personally always blame the fish. All I want to do is catch them for a quick kiss and safe return to the water.

My guess is Tim Lake? Near to the island.

Re: WIA #487

Getting closer in size, but not Tim.

This lake has a single, black campsite. It's also on a bit of a "dead-end" route.

Eagle?

Re: WIA #487

Good guess, but assuming you meant Little Eagle L, it does not have a black campsite!

But this lake is also reachable within a day from an access point.

Devine?

Re: WIA #487

Nope, both on my bucket list though.

But similar to the Galipos, you would have to be a pretty rugged tripper to push much further than this lake which is further east of there.

As a couple further hints, the access point staff informed me that one of The Happy Camper's favorite lakes is in the vicinity. Additionally, there has been talk on these forums about difficulty traveling from this lake to the next due to lost, overgrown portages.

Not Cranebill. I believe this lake just barely gets cut off from Jeff's Eastern camping map. Closest guess so far is still the galipos.

Further hint -- we were on the hunt for specks as indicated on Jeff's map, but only pulled out perch.

Dividing?

Re: WIA #487

Good guess, but Dividing is still a fairly major artery leading into Coon and such. This lake, when travelling from an official access point, only leads to a dead end.

Pointing us in the correct direction:
