WIA #463

I thought I would choose one that is obscurely related to the previous WIA.  Bonus kudos for identifying the relationship.

Re: WIA #463

I don't think this is it, but it looks awfully similar to top of the cliffs on Upper Dwyer L.

Head Lake.  Both taken from the Highland Backpacking Trail ?

Re: WIA #463

Is it McDonald Lake?

Re: WIA #463

Not McDonald Lake.  To get a somewhat similar view of McDonald Lake would be too much work for me.

Martin's guess is the first guess north of 60.  I was wondering why you guys were all stuck in the south.

Re: WIA #463

I have been reminded that it wasn't easy getting to this spot and now I'm probably too old to do it again.
North of 60 and not on a hiking trail.

Re: WIA #463

I'm thinking I've got this. But I've thought that before.

Tarn Lake, from the cliffs on the southwest side.
So I'm thinking that means both lakes are / are possibly Tom Thomson painting sites.

Don't think it was ever "verified" that Tarn was a painting location? It's a great view.

Hey, no fair.  You've been there.

Yes it's Tarn Lake and both Tarn and Starling Lake are possible -- but not verified -- locations of the Tom Thomson painting "View from a Height"

You're up Scott.

Re: WIA #463

Come on, I waited a day and a half before answering!

I really liked the Tarn area, great scenery.
