Checkout the first of three videos of a base camping trip Mark, Steve and I did in late June. I’m not much of a writer so my trip logs consist of videos. We had one goal and that was to see as many moose as possible. If you can believe it, I have never seen a moose in person before and Mark was set on changing that with this trip. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Hey Matt, love your video and audio work! Looking forward to you seeing some moose; I've seen a ton in Tim river area, so you are in the right place.

Looking for moose is about as productive as seeking happiness. If you ignore the search and just go into the middle of the park you’ll find yourself surrounded.

Thanks GordK and faitzy!
solos, agreed. This was the first trip I actively looked for moose. On all my other trips with family and friends, if we see one, we see one but never get disappointed if we don’t. We actually like seeing the smaller animals more. Otters, beaver and snow shoe hairs to name a few.

I just watched the first two last night. I was scared when Mark was whacking the hatchet/log against the bench while the saw was sitting on the bench unfolded. But I was even more scared when he added Mio to his whiskey
It's great that you finally got to see moose though, and you got some really incredible footage. Your mission to find moose really reminded me of a few years back when I took my girlfriend to Clydegale Lake in search of moose for her first sighting, and we got really spoiled with the experience. (shameless plug but if you're interested in the read, you can check it out here)
Looking forward to watching the last instalment!

TVMatt that was terrific, and congrats on the moose! To me some of the most fascinating footage was that chipmunk. There's just no telling how something like that happens. Do some chipmunks just have a wanderlust to explore new worlds? Does he jump in the water to get away from something not realizing he's got 330 meters in front of him? Does he think "I'm buoyant, let's see how this goes!" It was an impressive feat, regardless of how it came to pass. Glad the little Olympic swimmer made it.

Lemon Mio and whisky is awesome! Back country Whisky Sour, give it a try.

I agree! I brought a hatchet on my very first canoe trip because I didn’t have a saw. I have never brought one since. They are a huge unnecessary risk. As seen with the Baird brothers, things can go really bad fast and with lasting consequences.

We saw three that day I believe. Guess it was moving day! Kicking the kids out of the parents domain.
