Re: Cow moose and calf (Tim River)

Nice video. What time of year was this? I'm wondering how fast the babies grow. The calf is a really good swimmer and seems to float quite well.

Thanks! I tried...my hands were shaky because they were so close. This was taken during our Rosebary trip mid-July (last month).  I wonder too...the baby didn't have a hard time keeping up with the mom

Re: Cow moose and calf (Tim River)

That was very cool - thanks for sharing.
I unknowingly got between a cow and a calf one time on a portage returning to Hambone...oops.   The cow suddenly appeared in front of the canoe, maybe ten meters away.  She was crossing the trail to get with her calf.  Scary few seconds until I was confident she wasn't in a bad mood about it.  Maybe she just didn't feel like going after an upside down canoe with legs.
