White Partridge Creek is much farther west (and none of its water flows into the photo location)

Well, John, you have correctly analyzed the water flow, but you're not quite there yet. So far, MartinG is warmest.

It's a short distance downstream from the High Falls waterfall.

Not downstream from High Falls (Martin is only warmest as the crow flies; you're now about equal in that regard)

There is a channel from St. Andrew's lake that connects to the same basin that High Falls drops into. I've never hiked along it but I would guess that is where this photo was taken.

No, not quite - but you're close.
[edit] I'm beginning to get the feeling that either I've misinterpreted someone's guess or I've provided misleading clues. Martin - could you please clarify what you meant by 'squishy bit' and 'chute'? As far as I am aware, there isn't anything I'd call a 'squishy' bit between High Falls pond (I assume you mean the pond that High Falls falls into) and where that flow enters High Falls Lake.

Thank you, Martin - that's where I thought you meant, but I was beginning to doubt my interpretation of what you said. Anyway, that's not it, so let's just carry on.

The creek flowing from Marie to High Falls Lake, but close to the HFL end of it.

None of the water in the creek flowing from Marie Lake came from Carcajou Falls, so that's not the spot either. But you're close, Peek.

It appears everyone has given up on this one (and I just about have, too), so I'll post just a few more clues. MartinG and Peek are both close and about equidistant from the spot; Yellowcanoe is even closer. A topo is a better resource to consult than Jeff's Map in this particular case.

Funny you said that - I was using the high res sat images and my only other guess would've been Forbes creek right before it dumps into the Barron R.. but you said it wasn't Forbes creek... Lol I haven't a clue but I bet we'll all smack our heads and say doh! when it's revealed.

Barron river between Stratton and St Andrews?
Offline
No John already guessed that.

Barron R between St Andrews and High Falls lake?

Yes, Martin, that's it. The actual spot is just upstream of the 'pond'/'squishy bit' featured in Tom Thomson's painting 'Autumn Petawawa' (i.e. a few hundred yards upstream of the previous WIA).
OK, you're up.
(Peek, are you saying 'doh!' yet? ;-) )
