On our way out of the park on Sunday we noticed the west gate flags at half staff, and a line up to get into the parking lot. Just wondering if anybody knew anything about that?

I do not know for sure (I could not find anything official - maybe someone else will be able to find an official posting) but it might be because of the three women killed in Renfrew County this past week. It has had a profound impact on the community around AP. There have been many memorials this week in our communities and certainly has touched many who work in the park.

The half mast would be because of the tragic murders.
The wardens on traffic detail is just to manage the parade of leaf peepers.

Anastasia Kuzyk, one of the murdered women, was a former seasonal naturalist at the Visitor Centre.
