With Rob being away and no one else jumping in with a picture I thought I would go ahead and keep the ball rolling. We'll see if it's as easy as the last one.

Nope not there, but like I said the lake pictured has a similar sound when pronounced. ;-)

I suppose it must be Nahma Lake then? From the 90m portage?

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone. Keep them coming.

I will add the North Tea loop to my list of options. I've never been that way so it would be cool to explore a new part of the park. The big downside as I look at it is the motorboat accessibility. I always find that takes away from the canoe trip experience.

I will also consider Rock to Pen. The downside to this one is that I will have all of these boys plus a few others camping at Whitefish Lake Group Campground a few weeks before this. I expect we will probably be doing some exploring down to Rock and it would be nice to show them a whole new area.

I had also considered either Shirley or Booth. I've been to both these lakes before and did really like them. I was even considering looking into the option of the Tattler cabin. If we did go with Booth we would be packing the fishing rods as I've had pretty good luck on that lake in the past.

This will not be the first time canoeing for any of these boys, but I believe only one of them has done a back country trip. I'm not worried about their abilities swimming, paddling, or portaging, and as previously mentioned I will be taking them to Whitefish Lake soon and will be able to get a better feel for how they do.

I've yet to be led astray by the advice received on this forum so here I am again asking for your recommendations on where to go camping. This September (14-16) I am going to be taking a small group of youth into the Park for the weekend. There will only be 4 youth between 16-18 years of age. Although this will be the first canoe tripping experience for all but 1 of them they are all in great shape and I have no doubt that they will all be able to cover good distance if needed. My regular canoe tripping partner will also be coming with us for a total of 6 people.

They've left things pretty open for me to plan with little to no preferences on what they want to experience. I think the two most important things they would want is relative isolation/privacy and a good swimming area. We will need to rent 2 canoes for the trip, so access points where that is possible is a must. We are driving up from Orillia so access points on the east side of the Park won't work. We will be leaving the fishing rods at home so we don't need to be concerned about that. Here is what I've considered so far:

1) Kiosk - Mouse - Maple
I've been to this area before and think that it would be a good option, particularly if we got the beach site on Mouse. We would launch from Kiosk and travel to Mouse on Friday. On Saturday we would make our way to either Maple or Erables and camp there (which lake has better sites)? On Sunday we would travel up Maple Creek and out.

2) Magnetawan Access to Misty
I went to Misty last year and thought it was a nice lake with lots of day trip options. We would launch from the Magnetawan access point and travel through the Petawawa to Misty on our first day. We would stay on the same site for the two nights and consider doing some day tripping on the Saturday. Return to the access point the way we came.

3) McGarvey Lake
I've never been there but hear it is beautiful. Is getting there doable on this trip? Which access point would be best to enter from? Is this l

Which outfitter did you end up using?

We ended up not needing to use an outfitter after all. A couple of guys backed out and one of our party had a 3 seater canoe. It was a beast, but thankfully there was only one short portage.

Bugs on Sunday Lake this past weekend weren't bad. Once the sun set the mosquitoes definitely came out, but they were almost non existent during the day. There was quite a few horse flies out all day long, but nothing too bad. Overall it was significantly better than I has anticipated.

Just got back this morning from our trip to Sunday lake. We had a great time! Great advice to book all three sites. The island site was great but the other two were lacking and I imagine it would get pretty loud if all the sites were booked. As others have said the island is scarce of wood, but with a fire ban on we weren't concerned with that.

Thanks everyone for all the advice!

I will guess August 06. My rationale is that a lifted fire ban would be a good start to the week, and I am also leading a youth trip to Algonquin on the 10th and I'm trying to be optimistic.

Our trip to Sunday Lake is quickly coming up. We're considering renting a couple of canoes but I'm not sure which company would be best to rent from for that area. Any recommendations? So far I've considered the Portage Store for proximity, or just picking them up at Algonquin Outfitters in Huntsville on the way up.

I'm assuming that no company would deliver to access point A43 with it being a logging road?

I've just ordered the 13X10 Guide Kit.

If anyone else decides to order you can use the coupon code aq10off to receive $10 off the order.

Thanks for sharing! There is a good chance I will be picking up the Guide Tarp Kit.

Does anyone have any experience with these tarps? I've never heard of the brand but I like that they are made in Canada (and on sale).

In an attempt to save a couple of pounds of gear weight I recently bought an Ursack, which will be heading into Algonquin with me very soon for a 9-day trip. I'll post my impressions of it when I get back.

Would love to hear those impressions now that your back. I can't decide between the Ursack and BearVault.

What do you like to see more of in longer trip vids?

The longer videos definitely require the right content. If someone is just having a lazy day around camp then it is probably best for the video to be shorter.

I'm always interested in both watching and hearing about the route taken. I've only been to the park a handful of times, so I love getting to see new lakes through other's videos and planning my own future trips around that. It's also great to see the route planned out on the map (which you already do).

Animal sightings or interesting events are also interesting to hear about. Even if you didn't capture it on camera that is the stuff that is still interesting to have a person talk through.

I'm also a bit of a gear junkie, so I always love seeing what gear people are using. In your last video you had a scene where you tore down your tent. I like scenes like that because even though you didn't make any comments about it I can go and do my own google search. (I always have a bookmarked folder of potential future gear purchases). From some of the comments it sounds like you took a Ursack out for the first time. I've been thinking about buying one of those so I would have loved to see how you used it, whether you liked it, and how it compared to your regular food storage method. Whenever a new peace of gear goes into the bush I don't think it would be a bad idea to make a comment towards it.

Campfires and loons are never amiss either.

Bob, I'm glad my idle comment provided the nudge needed to complete the video. My phone alerted me that it was uploaded this morning so it gave me something to look forward to for when I got home from work. Great video as normal, though it's not often we see you taking things so leisurely. That sunset campfire scene at 11:30 was absolutely beautiful. I was all inspired to go there until I saw how many sites are on Stratton. You certainly had the right idea about going in the shoulder season.

I also saw your comment on YouTube about intentionally making your videos shorter. I'm not sure if it counts for anything but I will add my vote to those who quite enjoy long camping videos.
