Thanks for all the great response!  It’s definitely helpful and given me something to think about!

Well its officially "off season" for me canoe tripping anyways.  Plenty of canoeing to be had yet I realize just the way my vacation works.

Working on next years trip, and considering some gear changes.  The one that I'm struggling with is taking to the trees and switching to a Hammock.

I don't question the quality of sleep or anything like that.  I'm more looking at startup costs.  I'm mostly a shoulder season camping  April-May  Sept-Oct sort of thing is when I'm usually in the park.  I guess my question is can you get by without an Under quilt during that time of year?  I see one manufacture sells a piece of reflectix as an insert under you while you sleep.  I am wondering if that is sufficient or do you still need an under quilt.
Anyhow, I know there are plenty of expert Hammock campers on this forum any suggestions/recommendations are appreciated.

That would be my guess, I've never been myself.  Hopefully somebody that knows will chime in and give you the answer your looking for.
Last number of trips I've been out of Brent.  The 40km gravel road thins out the herd a little.  At least enough for me.  I find it gives me a solid "disconnect" from civilization even before I get a canoe in the water.
You sound like your in trip planning mode for next year.
That's what I'm working on now.

My trip is a go.  Two weeks time roughly putting in at Brent.  Catfish,Burntroot,La Muir, Hogan, Phillip, Radiant and out.  Travelling with my son who is college age.  Might be our last one for awhile we are both pretty excited for it!
I purchased a new canoe pack, looking forward to putting it through its paces.

It is indeed the end of the 3750 looking at Big Crow.  I guess an access point is closer if you take a shuttle from Opeongo.  I didn't think about that.
Your up!

No it's not Hayes.
I owe everyone a bit of an apology I had my map oriented wrong on my IPad, so this lake is more SW of Doug,  So instead I'll post another picture.
If you've finished this portage and seen this lake.  Chances are you'll never forget the portage.

Further west and a touch south of Doug.

When I say that it's still a good ways away.  It took me about 4 days to paddle from this lake to Francis.

Not Francis. But this is the closest guess so far.  I did visit Francis on the Petawawa  later on this trip.  This Lake is west of Francis.

No it’s not Louisa.
unlike all the Lakes guessed you would not be able to get to this lake just by paddling/portaging in one day.

No it’s not Booth.
Had a chuckle about sweedish pimples analogy of the clouds.  It could very well be Simpson Clouds, or Cumulus humilis clouds (fair weather cumulus)
