It is pool and drop rapids above Rocky Chute. Unless water is very high you should be fine. Depending on how I'm feeling I might be compelled to just... walk the rail line past Bypass Falls. Maybe even past Macdonald Rapids. As Jeff says it's not a public right of way. CN owns the rail line not Ontario Parks. If CN were to enforce not travelling on the rail line one would assume the enforcement officers would be driving it, in a truck...

Great trip report! Thanks for sharing! The mudholes from Dagger to Bonnechere sounded awful! Still I would choose that route over the Golden Staircase from Kimball Lake every time.
