Thanks for the kind words, Rob. (Sorry I took this topic off course )  PS Still remember our encounter many years ago, us hooking up on the Pet, with us going up and you going down to Farm lake. You still have that rope you forgot? smiley face)
for me, a more qualified "bucket list" item that I currently can't afford is for my brother and I to do a fly in, somewhere in the Canadian remoteness. Getting dropped off with a canoe and spending a week + w/out anything other than our camping gear, (not flyin cabin locations) and experiencing nothing other than wildlife and great fishing

I'll echo that, Shayne.  The sensation as I drive south, away from the park, and more signs of civilization appear, more traffic, more chain stores, more everything, culminates in kind of an exasperated under-the-breath "damnit." when I circumvent Toronto.  Toronto is an awesome city, but it represents the complete return to population, machinery, plastic, asphalt and steel.  There's no turning back to the quiet at that point, and what remains of that marvelous solitude and peace slip away except for occasional scent of swamp gas coming up from filthy clothes in the back of the car to visit me.

Yeah I hear ya we usually get a late start out of the park (wanting to spend as much time as possible b4 leaving) and have a stopover around the Hamilton area where we splurge on a fancy restaurant, a shower and comfy beds b4 the final push home

For those with US plates. I'm sorry you feel like this but don't blame you one bit. Strange times for sure. Hopefully the climate changes and you can get a trip in soon. I'd say rent a car but still means leaving our car somewhere north of the border. Good Luck!

It's all of you on this forum I'm not worried about as we all have a kindred spirit.  It's the "overnighter" close to Toronto on our way home I worry about.

For me, it is the next trip up into APP, particularly with my age: and since I can only get up there only once per year. Historically what I've liked is my brother and I seeing new areas that we haven't seen before. But on the same side, getting back to a place we enjoyed in the past is equally great. Probably a lame response for what you are looking for, but my list includes going to the 1st lake and hopefully 1st camp site that I started my APP journey over 18 years ago. Guess that might count as a bucket list. (Just nervous about going back up there with all of the politics going on and seeing a Pennsylvania plate. sigh)

Nope not us. Sounds like someone else did that inbetween your and our trips. All we left was a reasonably large set of firewood under the table with a small Tryvec (sp) covering over it to protect if from getting wet. Thans again for a great TR! I loved that spot and we nailed the bass fishing but with me and my brother and our age, it as a slog getting back out haha

What a great TR, THANKS! Brought back memories when my brother and I did a weeklong base camp on Gilmore late July in front of your trip.  As you were able to salvage your rod and reel, did you have any luck fishing? We were thinking about a day trip down to Cedar but had difficulties finding the portage. Glad you had better luck than us. ( as we were close to us leaving and you showing up, were there any split firewwood with a tarp over it for you? If not I guess there were others showing up between us. Thanks again for a great TR !

Barry,
Although it looks like you don't receive any  compensation for other's who may capitalize monetarily on you supplying their links, the more I think about it, I'm sure your web site costs you money to support our community. Can you PM me with an address where I can contribute to you, keeping this site up an operational?
Sincerely,
           Andy W.

FWIW, I'm fine with people trying to make a $ on their work but question how it's promoted on a "community" site. Barry, I hope you are being compensated accordingly.

Not Length, Allan or Merganser.

It shares something specific with Length (but not exclusive to). It shares something else specific with Merganser (but again not exclusive to) and finally it shares something else with both lakes.

Thanks so much for your help in me focusing in on your WIA photo Peek!  It was a tremendous help . smiley face.

If there is another outflow to the left of the photo, that sure looks like the Petawawa, dumping int Radiant from Cedar ?

I've pretty much lost interest in most canoe tripping videos. They bore me. For me, they feel too long and spend too much time focusing on the minutia of each day. Not to mention most of the time the camera is pointed at someone's face instead of the country they are in. It has to be a pretty incredible trip, a great story or an engaging personality to get my attention. Frank Wolf trip videos have all this! Too bad he quit making them.

Still, every now and then I will put a video out of my own. Mine are pretty much garbage and I don't usually have enough content to put together anything resembling a story. Mostly I make them because its a fun creative outlet and I like looking back on them. I have a couple of trips from the last 2 years that I will open, tinker with for a bit and then close LOL! I might put one out for a Wabakimi trip this winter.

Don't count yourself out Martin! I love you whitewater videos!
