Sounds good. my dates are Aug 4 - Mouse, Aug 5 - Erables, Aug 6 - Maple.

I will be in a green Swift pack canoe.

I ended up booking similar dates but I think I'm going to spend an extra day on Erables, I'll keep an eye out for you on Erables, be nice to put a face to the names. I'm pretty easy to spot as I resemble a Moose 5'10 250lbs. I'll be in a Cream Swift Kipawa. My dates are 3rd- Mouse, 4/5 Erables, 6 Maple.

Thanks Hoser, appreciate the video, hopefully we get some rain soon. I'm in Bowmanville and we haven't seen more that a few mm's in the last month. The underwater shots look pretty cool.

The Sites on the narrows leading into Annie Bay look nice although I've only seen them from the canoe while trolling bye waiting for the water taxi. I'd avoid the sites at the portage to Bonfield near the big monument. If the wind is up it makes it difficult to cook etc., also the sites are a little crappy, the fishermen usually stop there to have lunch and rest so depending on your preference it may get a little busy.

Be careful at Hardy Bay, Dickson Lake, because of the algae blooms you will need to get enough drinking water on Lavieille to last until you reach Opeongo.

Thanks Shawn/RCSpartan, appreciate the feedback, I haven't pinned down an exact date but I'm getting a little stir crazy so it may be sooner than later, If I do go prior to the seventh I'll do the same. In the event I'm there at the same time I'll let you know and we can meet at the bar for a refreshment.

Trying to think of a good relaxing 3 day loop for the summer and I was thinking about Access 29 Kiosk-Mink(Or White Birch)-Club-Mouse-Big Thunder-Erables-Maple-Maple Cr. Anyone done this loop? Looks good on a map but I was a little bit unsure about water levels on Maple Cr in July or August. Any suggestions or alternates welcome, I've never spent much time in that area of the park just winging it off a map (not that that's a bad thing).

I don't really mind the length I paddle a 16.7 ft canoe now I actually like the challenge of trying to track into the wind (to a point). I made a kneeling thwart and I think I'll prefer it to sitting but I am a little nervous about not having the option longer trips. I guess there only one way to find out, thanks for the feedback.

Was thinking of a new canoe but I stumbled on a Kipawa in Kajiji and actually got it before someone else (Anyone who has tried this knows what I'm talking about). I haven't paddled one but I know the reputation so I rolled the dice, just wondering what peoples experience is with it. Has a very slight rocker and my current canoe (Alchemist Legend) is I would say moderate. My thinking was that it would track well on large lakes but probably wouldn't be ideal for carving down rivers, not whitewater but meandering rivers like the Crow. I pretty much always solo.

I think we may be talking about a different site, this one would be the site on the panhandle on the eastern end of the lake, the site on the point would be the easternmost site on Big Trout and it's located just to the south of that by a couple hundred yards. Would get the sun in the evening, thought I would clarify so you don't show up to a bad site at the end of a long day, It actually kinda looks like an north-eastern exposure on the map because of the long finger that reaches out into the lake, its fairly closed into the forest as well if your a sun seeker (I'm more of a sunny days in the shade type).

Big Trout Lake under (White Trout) on Jeff's Map, not the one on the point but just a few hundred yards to the South-East. I haven't explored the Lake was just passing through but the site was one of the best I've seen. Nice big benches to rest on at the end of the day.

You just answered my next question, looks like a nice spot to spend an evening sipping on something nice and watching the water go flowing by.

Sounds like a consensus opinion, I was thinking along those lines but it was just a guess.

I'll give that a shot, I bring panther martins every year but I never use them, you know what they say old habits die hard. I was actually thinking small eerie-deeries tipped with a worm might be good to get me down a little, I use them from time to time for Walleye so they must be running 12+ feet.

Just wanted to run something by people to see if anyone else has ever experienced this. I caught a Walleye this spring in the 3-4 pound range and when I brought him up and took it out of the water I was removing the hook. It was lightly hooked on the lip and I handled it fairly gently but I heard a pop like a small balloon popping and the fish went limp, it tried to release it but it was dead almost instantly. The fish looked healthy and was fat and broad, just curious if anyone knows why this would happen I've never experienced it before.

Do your spoon's run well with the single hooks? I've found spoons can run weird when the balance is off. I agree sidecutters are a must on fishing trips not only for the fish but also the fisherman (especially pike fishing) as I found out on a trip to Horwood lake last summer.
