I love it being there and the option to look, if I want.

And where is the line drawn?  I have personally visited more places in Algonquin due to seeing a trip log from Drew, a video from Evan or one of Peeks ruin or cabin tours than I have sites due to PCI.  And should we ask Jeff not to put travel times, interesting attractions, etc. on his new maps?

This site was always a great place to share Algonquin experiences to those interested.  For me, PCI is just an expansion of that and I am grateful for it.

Hi Barry,
When I load the front page, the latest update I see is April 26th 2022.  If I click on the little "A" beside news and updates, it reloads an up to date page.  Hope this helps.

Thanks,

There is also a "High Lake" around Birchcliffe and Calm area.  Elevation 420.  Gave me a good chuckle.  Better add this to the list Peek!

Last time we went through that way, we were set up to stay on Hogan.  Being a short travel day we decided to keep going into Parks bay.  We stayed on the last site before entering Gypsy bay.  I remember enjoying our site for swimming and the little trail that leads to the point.  And the site was quite sheltered if need be, for this time of year.  Not that we felt the sites on Hogan were terrible or anything, just evened out our days and made the next day to Philip a little shorter.

Hope you have a great trip, I loved that entire stretch

PaPaddler,

I believe they are referring to the difference in fishing licenses... Sport (higher catch and possession limits) vs Conservation (lower limits).

I personally have only fished a handful of times but find the discussion quite interesting.  I bought the conservation knowing my odds of catching anything were low and keeping it nonexistent lol.

Trippy,

He meant he stole the answer from me lol.  We were talking today and I thought it looked like Anchor Island.  We went there last summer.  Your 6 islands report with this site was a great read also!

I will second the comments about the Lure of the North.  Great people and a great business.  Kielyn was on one of the latest seasons of Alone as well.  Season 7 I believe.

Great read Marko, thanks for posting!

Single Malts definitely doesnt shy away from long days.  3 days and 2 nights should be plenty of time for you.  I have left late from Crooked Chute and made it to Whitson, including climbing the Natch trail.  We usually only portage Rollway and the last section of the chute though, so keep that in mind.

I aim for 3 nights on that section.  We like to stay a night at the cabin, one at the Natch and then one either on Traverse or Mcmanus depending on trip arrival/departure times.
