Algonquin Adventures / Algonquin Canoe Trip

Hi everyone,
I am looking for a location for a canoe trip in Algonquin Park with good fishing in August. Initially we were planning to do a trip to Quetico this year but unfortunately, we had to scrap this plan due to timing. We've done a couple trips in Algonquin already, Cedar Lake to Radiant twice and Booth/Tattler Lake. Our plan, as usual is to travel for a day and set up base camp for the week and fish. I'd prefer not to go to Radiant Lake again, the Bass there both times I went were full of worms and by the time you remove them the meat is mutilated. Tattler Lake was good, caught a ton of Pike in there including one 48"er. But it's been a few years since we've done Algonquin so I'm looking for a new spot with good fishing for different species - Smallies, Wide mouth, Walley, trout if it's possible to get them in August. We don't mind portages, typically we've done 25km-35km in a day.
I was looking at Basin Lake, however it seems like it's hit and miss there and there wouldn't be too much to the trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Update: Does anyone know anything about the fishing on Madawaska Lake in Parks southern pan handle?

Not too sure on the fishing, but if you want a cool little area to basecamp I would suggest the Kingscote Lake area. We caught some bass in Scorch on our way to the lookout trail, nice view and worth the hike up.
We did not hike the Bruton Farm Trail, but if you had more time it might be interesting.

We camped on the point site on Byers, it was a good spot with a sandy beach.
You could try and fish the North York River that flows into Branch Lake, plus take a day trip down the York River towards the High Falls. Looks like Bass and Brook Trout (not sure how good it will be in August though)

Overall just an easy area to move around, the portages are not overly difficult.
Kingscote itself was busy, but once you walk the P1300 things get more quiet.
No campsites on Big Rock Lake , so you could poke around and fish there in relative peace, I assume

Day trip in to North Tea will give you good fishing for bass and trout. Many other lakes in the area as well

Had some pretty good luck with smallies and lake trout in Parkside Bay and Ragged Lake. It's an easy portage from Smoke lake

I can't speak to the fishing from experience but the string of lakes between Longbow and Shippagew could be worth a shot . The easterly site on Longbow is beautiful for a basecamp. I'd bet the lakes through to Shippagew don't see much traffic. According to Jeff's Map primarily lakers and brookies in that are however.

Booth and Ragged are two fair options. Ultimately, seeking to catch fish in August means primarily bass and pike. Trout and walleye are possible but certainly more challenging and time-consuming to locate, but the bass and pike are an aggressive warm water species that are considerably easier to locate and catch.

Both of those options are pretty easy to access to set up a base camp and you have multiple options for day trips to alternative water (and species, if you so desire).
