Hi all,

Does anyone have a saw they love for camping? Would be nice to upgrade mine and figured I'd ask Santa for one this Christmas and would love to hear if anyone has a specific model they would recommend.

Cheers

Lenny

Hi,
I’ve been using the Agawa Boreal 21.  Great saw, does a great job processing wood.

Looks like an amazing saw! Do you use the All Purpose, or Aggressive blade?

I have the aggressive blade on it. I don’t think I’ve used the all purpose blade so far.

I have the Agawa 21 with the all purpose blade and don't think much of it. I also have this folding saw from Lowe's. It is lighter, cheaper, quicker to deploy and processes wood faster.

Ocassionally goes on sale for 50% off, so $13.

Depending on context.  Silky Pocketboy on a solo trip, gomboy for base-camping, and a cheap wood saw for winter.

i use the silky saw as well, i do like this saw,, i have a old trail blazer saw made in canada,, tube handles that break down to hold the pieces for tripping,,
i have used a saw similar to the one that martin mentioned above from lowes store,  we used that saw to process a moose before the long carry to camp,, worth it's weight in gold

Agawa Boreal 21" with the all purpose blade has served me well over the last 4 seasons.

I also use the Agawa Boreal 21, so far it has been great. Before that I used the Sven Saw which was amazing as well, only complaint was the Diameter of wood you can cut was limited by the design. I also use a small folding saw used for cutting ICF, and recently received a Silky Pocket Boy, which I find to be very handy for smaller jobs. I would be happy with any of these saws on a trip.

TheTrail Blazer Sawvivor

I picked this up (literally - found it in the woods) probably 20 years ago. They don't make them anymore but if you find one up for sale used, grab it. Love it: Light, packable, cuts wood like butter. Their story, as I recall, is one of a great product by a little NS company that grew too fast for management to handle.
