I think the nice thing about this forum (and the website) is that it encourages the exploration of the Algonquin backcountry. Winter camping is a bit more challenging due to the elements and the amounts of gear, and most people base-camp, then do daytrips on skis or snowshoe. But the nature of this type of trip is in keeping with the philosophy of this site.

I think any backcountry trip (either a trek or basecamp) would be a very worthwhile addition to the resources here (I do think it should be backcountry, not Mew Lake or other car-accessible sites).

Cheers,
M

I think Dan is right, sometimes it takes a couple rounds to get these things grown to their full potential . . .

Thanks Barry, as said above, I also appreciate your efforts.
It's a lot of fun to write trip reports, but even more fun to read others'.  I suspect this year will see a lot more participation and I look forward to seeing them all.

Lying in bed, delirious with flu. My girlfriend comes in and whispers, "You won a prize in the Algonquin Contest." On the road to recovery now!
Thanks Barry and AO for organizing this. I'm sure next year will bring many more reports, due to your efforts.
