Nope nope nope. Birchcliffe Lake is now on my “to do” list, but not through that creek. I love my kayak, but that route would be all but impossible in it.

Great video!

That was awesome. Kudos to you and Todd for tackling Birchcliffe Cr. on your first trip.

That moment of flipping the canoe up for the carry with the bucket loads of alder leaves and assorted debris falling out forever somehow said so much more than any of the previous crazy footage!! Amazing!! Here's to the alderum days!!!

Thanks for such a fantastic series. Thoroughly enjoying every minute!

Hey John
Diana and I were here today, looking for some guy with a snow trekker, but no luck.  One of these days ...

Pretty Lake?

Episode 4 was just as good as the first 3! I've only ever considered going DOWN Birchcliffe Creek, but now I think I'll just avoid it entierly.. I did White Partridge Creek once and that was a lifetime's worth of alder and spiders.

Really enjoying these awesome videos - and what a way to close in on the spring melt and ice out!

Birchcliffe Creek is certainly only for the adventurous (read: the slightly crazy), but Birchcliffe Lake is very pretty and secluded feeling (highly recommended).  Best of luck to anyone that tries to travel there.

I'm really happy to hear such positive comments about the series, I hope everyone continues to enjoy the episodes as they go along!

Great video, but do any of you fish?  Why no fishing poles, y'all no likely fishy?   Catching a few diners can save on food weight - that barrel looked like a beast to carry.

Mark brought along some fishing gear, but in reality it would just have been one more thing for all of us to carry.  That, and with all of the filming, we weren't left with a lot of extra time for fishing activities.

Most of all, if we were relying on my fishing luck for meals - we would have starved to death
