Hi Les. I was in this situation a year ago. Light weight , Affordable solo boats are scarce and hard to come by. Pack boats are more available I found. If thats your thing. I got lucky and found an older Swift Osprey in my price range. Its pretty light at 40lb. It floats and functional but definitely needed , and still does, restoration but have decided to use it this season. Hoping to get some work done on it in off season. My advice is just be one pops up. It eventually will , and it will go fast. Broaden your search range. I am in SWO and back and forth to Muskoka /Algonquin area pretty often. Dont be afraid to reach out if you need someone to check it out for you. I can arrange to get it atleast closer to you if you decide to pull the triggger.
