Im in the market for a solo canoe and having a hard time finding a place to buy one. I live near ottawa so going all the way to Niagara Falls out of the question.
I found one I like - its the clipper canoes packer ultralight. But the ottawa dealer doesnt seem to want to return emails and phone calls.
Does anyone know how to actually GET an ultralight solo canoe these days? Ill even go used if its light and not too far away.

Hi Les. I was in this situation a year ago. Light weight , Affordable solo boats are scarce and hard to come by. Pack boats are more available I found. If thats your thing. I got lucky and found an older Swift Osprey in my price range. Its pretty light at 40lb. It floats and functional but definitely needed , and still does, restoration but have decided to use it this season. Hoping to get some work done on it in off season. My advice is just be one pops up. It eventually will , and it will go fast. Broaden your search range. I am in SWO and back and forth to Muskoka /Algonquin area pretty often. Dont be afraid to reach out if you need someone to check it out for you. I can arrange to get it atleast closer to you if you decide to pull the triggger. I missed out on more than one as I wasn't ready to move fast enough. Nice to see you active. Hope.all is well. Cheers and good luck in your search.

Yeah, im happy to arrange something up near algonquin. And something like a pack 14 is what im after.

, Swift Canoe is having a Used/Rental/Demo sale currently. They still have a Prospector 13 Pack, a Prospector 14 Pack and a Keewaydin 14 Pack. (Always give them a call first. Their online inventory may not be up-to-date.)
