Just got this update this afternoon:

"We are pleased to announce that effective October 12, 2016, the cost of your inReach suspended service plan will be reduced to $2.95 per month.  This change will be reflected on your next invoice."

Being able to suspend the plan when not using it and pay monthly when we are using it was a big selling point in picking the InReach. Prior to this it was $4.95/month for a suspended device which was fine. This little price cut is a nice bonus.
