Where do you buy the permits? East Gate?
What is the condition of the access road?
Hows the fishing?

The office at Shall Lake should be open for this weekend. The access road was fine when we were there in August.

No, you would get your permit at the Shall Lake access office (#17)
Closes at 5:00 pm at this time of year.
What is the condition of the access road?
It's a major cottage and logging road...has always been in better shape than the roads I have to use at home.

Hows the fishing?
Plenty of pike in Booth, and I think pike generally come out to play in the fall if weather permits, so you should do alright. Mepp's #3 spinner on a steel leader did fine for me when I was last on Booth, but that was an early summer trip, not sure if that changes things. Don't ignore the rapids along the way either.

I'll be heading into booth for this weekend as well. I was in the same area in fall a couple years ago and a big wind storm came in. Hopefully it goes a little different this year !
