Camp chair thoughts?

8 or 9 yrs ago I bought a pair on "onwego" camp chairs.  They are lightweight, have held up well enough (their carry bags did not), but my wife and I have aged over that decade and now find it a pain in the backside to stand up out of them because our rear ends are a bit lower than our knees. Any thoughts on a taller ideally still lightweight chair for canoe trips?

We dont need power chairs to stand up just yet(!), just a bit less of a groaner to stand up from that are closer to a standard chair seat height.

Ones I have seen online are a mix of $$$ or have frames that look kind of delicate.

Re: Camp chair thoughts?

Hi Dave,
I guess I’m embarrassed to say but I cheaped out and bought a high back camp chair that has a carrying case and strap from Amazon not long ago.  Brand name was Nice C I think.  Anyways it’s lasted a few trips probably not the lightest but with the carrying strap I just sling it over my shoulder along with whatever else I’m carrying.  Last trip I did the majority of campsites didn’t have a bench so I would’ve logged some ground time otherwise.
Good luck with your purchase!

Depending on your route, it might be time to go back to a standard size fold up chair. They are easily double the size of the compact ones you can get, but the standard ones still travel well and would give you the height you need.
