Anyone done this loop? I was thinking of doing it in July. Any general info/insights, looks pretty straight forward. I haven't been in Algonquin in the summer in 25 years, almost always ice out or late September so I figured this would be a fun litlle trip, I live in North Bay so close as well. Anything I should visit or see in the area? Water levels on Maple creek in the Summer?

It is a 'straight forward' loop on the map and there are plenty of trip reports out of Kiosk on this site's trip-log section in the link in the header. Jeff's map outlines many 'historic' ruins like foundations and dump remnants from the logging era. Summer creek travel could include some areas with Alders growing in to make the travel a bit slower but I haven't read much about low water levels...which probably would be more common in late July or August but could happen if May and June are dry.
The crowds will be slightly greater than your May or September travels, but the northern half of the park doesn't get quite the 'density' of interior trippers as Achray or anywhere along the Route 60 corridor so it shouldn't be excessive. I've never done the Maple loop, but have done a September trip out of Cedar and it is a very appealing time of year in the park!

It’s a great loop that covers a lot of “everything” Algonquin has to offer without having to put in a ton of effort or distance.
Maple cr can get pretty shallow in the summer but is always passable.
Theres a ton of historic spots to visit along the route, half decent fishing and very scenic. I consider Erables one of the prettiest lakes in the park.

Thanks Guys,
Appreciate the feedback, looking forward to it. I've had my eyes on this loop for years, I'm ususlly hunting Walleye up north in the Summer but this year I wanted to make a point of getting this trip in. Going to do it in 4days/3nights starting on a Sunday, hopefully it won't be too busy.

Only possible hiccup - first time I did the Mouse-Big Thunder portage in mid July was 35 degrees. Only 50 m elevation change but I felt it.

Whenever I see this loop come up, I find that nobody ever talks about going through Whitebirch and Waterclear to get to Club, and instead opt for Mink. I understand that, there's an extra couple of portages involved, but those are two very nice lakes, they don't see quite as much traffic as Mink, and if you have a little extra time and energy, to me worth it.

I've gone through both Mink and waterclear and I do like waterclear a little more as a travel lake but if staying I prefer Mink as I like to back onto the old railway and go for a walk in the evening.

Yeah, I was looking at that, I'm not camping on either so I might take your advice, I won't be loaded down in the Summer like I am in the spring/fall and it's a short trip so an extra portage won't make much of a difference either way.
