Taken from an unusual place - what lake am I looking at? Hint: The body of water you can see is a 'named bay' of said lake.

South Bay of North River lake, taken from the Deacon fire tower trail?

Skymount Bay on Cache Lake?

Some really great guesses, but no so far.
Closest guess is Skymount Bay - but still far off.
The distance between the camera lens and the little island in the photo is 4.9km.

Parks Bay from up on the Hogan look out?

Not Parks bay on Hogan - but man oh man what a view from up there eh? To anyone who hasn't made the trek up to the Hogan Cliffs - totally worth it.
Here's a complicated hint:
I took this photo while on a 'day trip' during a backcountry canoe trip. We bushwhacked to a trail - but it's not a portage trail, hiking trail, historic trail or even a logging road - it's a different type of trail that is completely unrelated to backcountry canoeing. The named bay in the photo also has a canoe route that passes through it.

Mud Bay of Galeairy? There are some old building remains above that area, which is right up your alley Peek.

You got it, Mike. That is Mud Bay on Galeairy Lake
We were camped on Pinetree and bushwhacked up to the Leaf Lake Ski trails to check out the Pinetree warming cabin. This photo is taken from the cabin.
You're up!
