I did it in the fall a few years ago, it was so so with some spots a little hard to follow but nothing I remember that was too bad, just not heavily used. The put in at the Little Crooked end is really wet, I walked out on some logs that act as steps and went in upto my waist when one just sunk when I stepped on it. Can't say anything about the lake itself I was just hiking and not intending to go onto the lake. I heard it's worth visiting in the spring. I did see a Bull and Three Cows on the trail so worth the soaker.
