Any insight to conditions leading into Barron Canyon? Is it accessible now that Algonquin interior is closed? We have a 4x4 truck so I’m not worried about conditions per se but wondering if it’s a slog to get to so I can plan accordingly. Thanks!

I would think you would be ok this time of year. It would be more the spring time that I think might cause more issues due to flooding, washouts, etc.

Seconding the two previous posts.
Up until recently I drove a Honda Fit, and regularly visit that part of the park ...except spring, when it is muddy, potholed, and there is washout. But when the road is dry or frozen even a small car can do it. On shoulder seasons when things are wet, I try to drive that stretch earlier in the morning when its frozen, and avoid late in the day when its not.

Thanks for the info. I was more worried with the recent snowfall getting stuck in a car, but the forecast that particular weekend made the decision for me. So I put up my tree and watched the Grey Cup instead!

it's not the 4x4's that chew up the roads, it's the idiots with summer tires going hammer down and spinning their tires every time they hit a bump or hollow.

around here it is the 4 wheelers (cars and trucks) tearing up the back roads. Narrow tires and not slowing down for the corners not to mention excessive speed does more damage than you think. The big trucks have wide higher flotation tires and respect the roads they drive on.
