I did this loop in July. The portage from Shirley to Bridle was fine; a few muddy sections but relatively easy overall. We stayed on the campsite on the northeast shore near the active logging camp. Large site with decent access. It looked like there may have been a fire at this site in recent years. Overall it was decent. The site on the big island looked nice, but we wanted something further north on Shirley.
