I've added a report on a hike made on May 2 to retrace the old route from Upper Pine to Richards Lake and on to Tarn Lake. The trail is now completely overgrown so this was mostly a bushwhacking trip.

This might be of interest to paddlers as well -- thd trail was part of a past canoe route from McKaskill Lk, down the Bonnechere River, through Lower and Upper Pine to Tarn Lk, and from there to St. Andrews and Achray. From what I could find online it might be more than 40 years since anyone has paddled that entire route. I did find one trip report referring to a canoe trip made in 1977.
