I also ordered the the full Alpine Set. The reviews seem very positive. Looking forward to testing them out.

I finally got a chance to use these this past weekend on a 3 day, 2 night trip. These are by far the best pots/pans I have ever used, and also very lightweight. I recommend buying the metal spatula which is designed to scrape the pans clean without damaging them.

With the smaller pan I made a perfect roasted duck breast with crispy skin, then took my baked potato from the coals and refried it in the duck fat. I cleaned up the pan and made bannock which also turned out very well. The deeper "pot" would be ideal for oatmeal, soups, stews, cinnamon rolls, or any bread with yeast that will rise.

The lid is designed to have a twig fire on top of the pan to provide heat from above as well as below for more even baking. Extremely impressed with the set.
