May 24 South of Cache Lake w/ a snapped yoke

My poor yoke decided it had had enough about 1300m down the first portage of our trip to Kirkwood and Bonnechere,
BUT!
With a bit of bushcraft we managed to get everything back on track and had a great time.  Pics and the whole story here: https://iantendy.wordpress.com/2022/06/03/may-24-2022/

R.I.P. your yoke, Ian!  Nice bit of bushcraft to repair it though - well done, and glad it worked.   Sounds like a fun route too, so I'll keep that one in mind!

Re: May 24 South of Cache Lake w/ a snapped yoke

We also ran into another group May long weekend who had a yoke failure!  Sounds like we were lucky. only thing that broke for us was the nose pad on my glasses. Sounds like a great trip, a good read for sure!

Re: May 24 South of Cache Lake w/ a snapped yoke

May 25th is when my yoke got knocked into the water by the bramble on the Tim and I got lucky because I heard it sploink! in the water.

Looks like everybody almost had yolk on their face.....

Loved the report! On a trip like that when things go out of whack a sense of humor certainly helps.
