I didn't realize that #453 had been solved, but the winner suggested somebody else jump in. I've posted WIA's maybe four times ever, and each time it has been guessed super-fast. I keep threatening to post a photo of a leaf as a result. Let's see how you do with rocks.

This was from a trip in July 1998, taken from a campsite. A lousy campsite. This is a photo of a photo, the image isn't super clear. The white flash at the bottom left is not from the sun, it is from the office light over my head right now. The campsite does face east/southeast, however. I'll provide some hints along the way if/as necessary. To me there's not a lot to go on with this, but that's what I always think and then somebody nails it right off the bat.

Ian got it. THAT'S IT!!! Next time I'm posting a leaf in a mudhole on a portage!!!
This is one of the sites on the big island on the eastern side of the lake, and the site faces east. The water in front of the campsite is fairly narrow, so morning sun arrives pretty late, and there's a pretty fair-sized hill behind the site (the island is basically a steep hill growing out of the lake), so evening comes early. This is a site where the "flat" area is kind of narrow, and very little of the site is flat. It is one of those sites where you wake up jammed up against the low end of your tent.
Anyway, well done, Ian. You got it so fast I don't know if we can be pals anymore, but......yeah, ok, we can still be pals.
