New Canoe Packs

I heard these guys were thinking of bringing back some old Ostrom pack designs and they just launched a couple of new packs. They look too inexpensive to be copies of Ostrom packs but they sound well made.

Another option for anyone looking.

Re: New Canoe Packs

The duo of Kevin Callan and Andy Baxter made some videos of these packs on YouTube

I think Andy is owner of the company but I’m not positive.

They seem like pretty good packs.

Re: New Canoe Packs

Ostromoutdoors.ca is taking orders on their canoe packs and barrel packs.  I just ordered the barrel pack and it looks like delivery will be in May. I can’t wait, I’ve never heard anything negative about any Ostrom product.

Wow! And so they are. That is great news.

Re: New Canoe Packs

Looking at the barrel design, it's different than the previous (which is the best barrel harness in my opinion).

From what I recall, Bill retired a few years ago. RBW got some designs, and started making the packs/harnesses in Asia...

I suppose it's better than nothing, but I do lament the continued losses of high-quality small businesses manufacturing locally.

Cooke Custom Sewing, Lure of the North, Whisky Jack Outdoor Co. Good people, and they should be supported.
