I just booked a 13 night trip with starting point being Lake Traverse. I still have to plan for another 45 more nights somewhere else I guess?

You're a machine Bo.
I've yet to make it to Lake Travers - I think it's the farthest possible access point for me. One day!

Uppa...Traverse is a fav for white waterers all the way down to McManus. Quite a bit of flow through canoe traffic.
For me it is a nice quiet lake with many sandy beaches to relax on and walk out quite a bit on my fav campsite with water not over my knees and then walk about 5 yards to your left to 15+ feet of water to swim in which is very cold due to an underground spring.
Heaven!
Travers is nice. Stayed there a few times.
@boknows, have you camped at the Tom Thompson rapids site? Wonder what it is like to sleep next to that much moving water.

No I have not.....but I have heard it is very loud but easy to get to sleep.
By the way I think you meant to say Big Thompson rapids.
