Ok...I looked at photo again and now I think I have got it.
It is Wendigo Lake at start of portage to Allan. Uppa's post re his proposed route on ice out drew my attention to your WIA.
No way I can be wrong twice?????

Gerald?? Good one....not too many will know where this lake is. Many many years ago I fished it, along with Fitz and Reed. I have no memory of these lakes, just the awful time we had getting there.....only got 1 small speck in Reed. Back in those days we started from Bisset Lake.

Could be one of the "Georges" - big or wee...they both have "bays" at the end of the portages. And they're in proximity to North River Lake.
