We Took Our Four Month Old Baby Canoeing This Summer

Having a new baby didn't stop us.  In all, she did 4 backcountry trips this summer.

Here's a video of one of our trips this year.  This is at Wildwood Conservation Area near St Catherines.  It's a nice "backcountry" experience in the middle of Southern Ontario.

Later in the summer we did two trips to Algonquin.

That's great. She looks cute and happy. It's good that you don't let the addition to the family stop you from doing what you love. I've seen some very active friends suddenly stop doing almost everything they used to do so that they could stress out and dote over their child. They imagined that their child was some extremely fragile thing rather than the robust little adventure seeker that most kids are.

the little ones are easy, wait until they're toddlers! you still need to carry diapers for nighttime, but now you've got a little speed demon that could outrun a sprinter, and has a dirt- seeking ability that beats any heat seeking missile the military could design!
Multiple wraps of trail tape around the site helps, but don't blink!
