WIA #276

Peek will nail this, no doubt.

EDITED: Sorry, this forum never seems to like Google Drive links. Some folks have no issues seeing the links, others not so lucky. Should be fixed now :-)

Oh he’s good but I don’t think he’s that good.

Not burntroot! But getting closer!

Re: WIA #276

Alright, some hints.

1) These cabin ruins can be found along a portage without having to go off the trail. We were surprised they were not marked on the map.

2) In accordance with the above, they are not marked on Jeff's Map and the FOA map, nor are they listed on Peek's website.

3) Depending on your direction of travel, one of the end-lakes on this portage has no legal campsites on it.

I'll post another hint tomorrow if the guesses are still dry :-)

Re: WIA #276

this is a real shot at the moon here,, catfish lake,, near the turtle rock that is perched on the shoreline,,
seems to me that,,,   good old fella john connelly,  mentioned that there was a prospector cabin in the area.
any luck,, if so,, i am buying a lotto max ticket,,

Re: WIA #276

A fair guess, Swede, given the inside scoop! But not a correct one.

Another hint -- depending on the end of the portage, it's best to leave the fishing tackle at home lest ye risk being deemed a poacher.

Booth to Chipmunk, indeed. These ruins lie at the south tip of the small pond about halfway through the portage.

You're up, ShawnD!
